Vehicle Safaris

Take a ride through the jungle and experience the adrenaline rush through the slither among the bushes, silhouettes of a would-be-predator and sudden sighting of an exotic animal. Chase and if unlucky, be chased by your game.

Safaris are available in the form of jeeps, vans and elephants in Theppakadu. A jeep could fit eight persons at a time and a van could hold 25. But the ones atop an elephant which can hold four persons is the most exciting as it can take routes within a jungle that cannot be accessed through a vehicle. Usually, a vehicle safari ride lasts 45 minutes.

Elephant Safaris
In Mudumalai, elephant safaris are available with bookings done at the Ooty forest office. The tickets are also sold at the Mudumalai Theppakadu reception center on a first come first serve basis. Elephant rides are subject to dry and favorable weather conditions.
